Grandma Gets Her Groove Back.

The Challenge

Stuck in the ’90s, the community was drowning in beige. Heavy lighting, lifeless finishes, and zero first-impression magic meant tours fell flat and occupancy followed.

The Goal

Recast the space to match Morningside’s bright, energetic, and proudly feminine identity. We set out to design a community that makes families smile, residents feel instantly at home, and tours convert to move-ins.

Our Approach

Color + Pattern Play
Coral cabinets, teal accents, and playful patterns flipped the mood from dull to joyful.

Local Storytelling
Artwork and environmental graphics celebrated Philadelphia’s gardens and landmarks, tying the Liberty Bell Bistro and other touchpoints to place and pride.

Layered Textures
Warm woods, soft patterned carpet, and cheerful tile struck the balance of residential comfort with brand-forward polish.

Resident-First Experience
Bold design moments paired with familiar touches ensured residents felt grounded, not overwhelmed.

The Results

The refresh turned every tour into a showcase. Families lingered longer, staff felt proud of their spaces, and the community finally reflected its lively brand.
